Are you fully invested at living your life to its fullest potential? Are you daily striving to discover what your fullest potential is? Are you living on purpose? Are you celebrating the life, the breath, and the gifts, you’ve been given?
"Everything in the universe has a purpose. Indeed, the invisible intelligence that flows through everything in a purposeful fashion is also flowing through you." ~Wayne Dyer
If you answered no to any of these question, my next question is, why not?
Why are you not using this precious moment you’ve been given to realize what you were meant to do, and taking the necessary steps (big or small) to make that thing happen?
Perhaps you are singing that same song I found myself singing for years… “I can’t do that or be that”, “The time isn’t right yet”, “I’m not smart, beautiful, or worthy enough”, or “I’m afraid to fail.”
Listen, dreams are realized when we believe they are possible. If we don’t believe in ourselves enough to accomplish the given feat, we’re already defeated before we even start.
Whenever we make a decision to go forth and do those things we desire to bring to fruition for ourselves, we must first understand that obstacles and hurdles will almost always show up. That’s no reason not to go after what you really want to do.
Know that when your life was written out, before you were even conceived, you were given the gift of purpose.
I ran across this awesome post on yesterday from Positively Positive, where one of the authors discussed trusting your process. In it, she explained how everything that happens to us, happens for our greater good. I would go as far as to say, that everything that happens to us happens on purpose. The good and the bad, are preparing us for what’s yet to come for each of us.
I used to believe that my life was a huge set up by God/Universe (whatever you may call that great entity); to me, it seemed like everything that could possibly go wrong in ones life, went extremely wrong with mine. Looking back over my life today I have since changed that tune. I know now that everything that happened to me, again, good or bad, happened so that those experiences would prepare me for this very moment in my life.
As soon as this became apparent to me, I started doing things to discover my purpose in life.
So on today, I wanted to go back to an earlier Daily Reflection (Your Life has a Purpose) and share with you some more inspiration to get the ball rolling for you.
- You can! You must! And you will! Think about whatever it is you want to offer the world. Get a clear picture of it in your mind. Got it? Now, imagine if what you have to offer, no one else could do it like you would do it. Sure, someone else maybe could do it better, or maybe not so much… whatever the case, it still wouldn’t be like you would do it. So think about those things that the world is going without — that maybe you are responsible for contributing. That, my friend, would be purposeful.
- There is no better time than now, to prove to yourself what is possible! Later whenever it arrives is RIGHT NOW!
- You are already fully equipped with everything you will need to pull your purpose off; and whatever you don’t have will be provided as you keep moving forward. However, you will never access any of it until you start right there where you are. It’s almost like one of those voyage type video games. The first stage is always easy. It’s purpose is only to show you the gifts you already have in your possession. With each new level you develop new gifts, tap into gifts that went unrecognized, and with each passing lesson, you get closer and closer to the final round. But, the voyage never begins until you start that first stage. That first stage is actually the foundation to the game. You will never be able to play the game on any other level, if you don’t start at the first one.
- Know your own worth! You have to know what your work, time, and effort is worth to you. Never allow other people to tell you what you’re worth. No one knows but you how much time you put into discovering what your purpose is, or how much work you put into fulfilling that purpose. So make up in your own mine what you’re worth and then celebrate daily who you know you are, and what you’re worthy of becoming.
- What if I fail? So what! Many have failed before you, and many will fail after you’ve gone; but none of them that truly achieve success of finding their purpose will be defined by their failures. People that succeed are remembered for their victories. They know that they never really fail, but always get outcomes to the actions they take. They learned to rebuild their failures as stepping stones, so they could use them as tools, and not as crutches. Think about how many failures you’ve had in your life already. Now, that’s how many stepping stones you have at your disposal. Use them. And step up to the next level in your life.
This isn’t a quick fix or an answer to the dilemma of dream seeking; consider it more of a spark to set your spirit on fire. Just remember the quote I shared in the post Faith and Hope Fueled, “Faith and hope are nothing; if they’re left to gather dust on a shelf. They must be fueled by determination, persistence, and action. Striking a fire behind the three; well, let’s just say, the thing that you’re supplying the faith and hope to, Begins to Happens!!” ~ Deeone

This post has been a great encouragement to me today, Deeone. Sometimes I have a tendency to let life push me along down the trail instead of saddling up and riding out into the wild blue yonder.
I needed this one. Thanks.

Thanks for always surprising me with excellence! Awesome post my friend! I love the “What if I fail? So what!” Failure is only bad if we don’t learn from it and continue to repeat negative behavior. When we learn from failure…it is a successful fail! Keep up the great work!
Burl recently posted this awesomeness..Start asking “Why?”
Hey Burl,
Thanks buddy! You’re absolutely right! Failure always lends us tools to better the next approach. If we use it as a tool and not a crutch. I’m getting much better at the tool part. LOL

Hey Deeone!
You know you touched on a topic really dear to my heart. I love your 5 points and agree with them whole heartedly.
I would say though that recognizing your gifts isn’t always easy for us. Sometimes it’s the forest for the trees syndrome don’t you think? Our gifts make what we do come to us so easily we forget or can’t imagine it not being the case for everyone. We can’t see how much it might be worth to others. Which of course leads to us not being able to see our gifts.
I do love your ‘what if I fail..so what?” comment. Seriously we need to start fixing our attitude towards mistakes and lessons in our society. Perfect isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and none of lifes best things were found in a perfect first try..
The belief that dreams are possible sometimes needs a hand. That’s where people like you come in and show others how you are making things happen.
Your quote about faith and hope…awesome. Keep on showing people how to dust those off and stop wasting the precious gifts they have.
xoxo Bonnie

You, my friend, have been a great inspiration to me this week. I’m not sure if you know it or not, but you have encouraged me every day this week. For that, I am truly grateful! If I was arms reach to you right this very minute, I’d give you the tightest hug you’ve ever felt… ok, I just got a mental picture on that one… I saw you coughing.
I’d give you a really big hug. LOL
You’re right though, recognizing our gifts can be a challenge at times, but I think that’s where trusting ourselves and taking chances come in… again, that’s another challenge, as well. I’m sensing another post coming out of this… you bring up some great points.
I love what you shared about “perfect not being all it’s cracked up to be…” Now for me, that’s a challenge, because I’m a perfectionist at heart. Although I never do things perfectly, I do often try to attain it as close as possible. Leaving me sometimes frustrating myself when I don’t even get close.
That’s something I’m working on too. (Again, another post!)
So you’ve given me two post to work on in the coming weeks. I’ll have to get on top of that ASAP. I think I’ll work on them this weekend.
Thanks for everything hun! <3

Wonderful post Deeone!
I loved the question you asked, which I think very few of us really do – live on purpose, celebrate life and live each moment to it’s fullest.
I think most of the ime we keep making some excuse or the other and by doing so we lose the chance to live in that very moment, nor realizing that time is slipping away so fast.
You are absolutely right when you say that dreams are realized when we believe they are possible, and to make them possible we need to believe that we can achieve those dreams. Yes, hurdles and obstacles are always there whenever you start something new or daring, but then aren’t those in every sphere of life? Do we stop living because of those or sit back and let life just pass us by?
I also strongly believe that everything that happens to us is destined to happen, and it occurs for a reason. If it’s something good, we should be happy and grateful to the Almighty, and if it’s something bad, then too be thankful. Because when things go wrong, those are the times and things that teach you so much in return. Every failure is a stepping stone to success, because we learn from each defeat, mistake, or failure and get better. So, they should be taken as opportunities to get better and better each day.
I liked your five points shared and couldn’t agree more. I think there’s no better time to get started than the moment you think it is, which is NOW – so get moving.
Sometimes all you need is a little push to get going – isn’t it?
Thanks for sharing a wonderful post with a reminder to live our lives on purpose and do so now.

Good day Harleena, I absolutely loved your thoughts on this post! Thank you for your kind words on it, as well.
You made several great points here. The first that really leaped off the page for me was what you said about making excuses. Making excuses was always a problem for me in the past. I was fixated on the things that were up against me and would fail to see all the things I had going.
Most people are this way… they allow the focus of the wrong things to take their sights off of what they can do towards what or who they want to become.
The purpose that we each share is to be found doing… doing something that contributes back to humanity and the world. We each have something that we were given by our Creators, to give back to those around us.
I think the purpose we each share is to be a living example to someone else.
We simply cannot fail being mindful of what we’re portraying to other people.
If we do ever feel as though we have failed, we should do as you shared, and use that failure as a tool to do it better the next time.
Your thoughts here were encouraging and empowering, and I cannot thank you enough for contributing to this post in this way. You’ve totally inspired me to keep on moving towards living on purpose.
Thank you for that.

Hi Deeone,
I loved the advice you gave in this post. In particular, I appreciate the point you made about pondering on what exactly we can offer the world, which no one else can offer in the way we can.
I found this perception to be very helpful and uplifting. Thank you.

Another great one Deeone!!
Isn’t it crazy that our minds will spend more time thinking about what we can’t do (and all of the reasons/excuses why) than what CAN do?! I was like this for so very long and if I had a penny for every opportunity I missed out on because of that, I’d be a billionaire right now! (LOL) I had to take those steps that you mentioned and put them into action and when I did, I started to see more positive changes. We have to speak it out loud that we can achieve anything that can imagine and beyond. Life does not–and will not–come to us to live–we have to go to it.
This is an awesome post–yet another one for refer back to often!! Great share Friend!

Thanks Makeba! I’m so glad that you were able to relate to it.
I loved the insights you had to share on this, as well. I was just telling a friend that exact same thing this morning. I am the worst when it comes to playing the reasons I can’t do something, and the excuses as to why I can’t do them, to myself. I find myself doing them more than I’d like to admit.
Do you want to know what I think is taking place when this happens? I believe our mind(or ego) wants us to believe that we’re the only one that’s having those kind of thoughts; which is absolutely ludicrous. Everyone has those kinds of doubts. The only way I foresee freeing oneself of that kind of behavior is to do the opposite of what we tell ourselves.
If it says go left, and we’re already pivoted in the right because our inner voice told us — way before our mind even had the chance to speak up — keep moving towards the right direction, no doubt!
Loved you thoughts on this, sweetie. Thanks for the sharpening!

Deeone recently posted this awesomeness..Seeing the Good in Karma
The energy totally shines through in this post, Deeone! My favorite point is your 5th one about redefining failure. I think this is where language comes into play. We already have a definition of failure in our minds and it’s connected to negativity. That’s why it’s so hard for us to logically convince ourselves of the truth: that there is no such thing. What someone defines as failure in my life can actually mean new skills or open doors to something else that’s beautiful. Thanks for the reminder, friend. =)

I loved your thoughts on this, as well. Especially this, “We already have a definition of failure in our minds and it’s connected to negativity. That’s why it’s so hard for us to logically convince ourselves of the truth: that there is no such thing.”
If we keep that as our truth, failure doesn’t stand a chance of keeping us away from what we want to do. It will have us saying, “Failure? What’s that?”
Thanks for the wonderful feedback on this, Chica!
I really appreciate it.

Powerful post, Deeone. It is so important that we take the time to discover our life’s purpose and live with passion. I read Joanne Cipressi’s Renewing Yourself series, and like your posts always do, it challneged me to take some positive steps. To know where you want to go and who you want to be is important, but i think you really need to understand who and why you are before you can get there. Your posts are always si simple sage. I so appreciate you. xox

Thank you, Shelley! I am familiar with Joanne’s series. I was able to catch a few of them myself. It’s good that we discover those messages that challenge our way of thinking and doing thing, because that’s where we find growth. Years ago (in my early 20′s), you couldn’t pay me to read anything having to do with self-help, personal growth and development, or spirituality. However, since turning my focus onto making changes within myself, and sharing those changes with all of you; I have developed not only an interest in the topics above, but a love for them as well. That love keeps me seeking how to better understand my self through the challenging reads I run across. Those three areas have assisted me greatly in understanding who and why I am. I believe that when we keep seeking growth – growth will always seek us back.
Thank you for your kind words, always, my dear friend. You are such a blessing to me, as well. Cheers!
Deeone recently posted this awesomeness..Speaking Life Into Your Situation
Hi Deeone!
Sorry, was disconnected for about a month! My best friend got married…so had reasons to be away!
Now for the post, I did have a tendency to let life push me along and see how it goes. I felt destiny was too powerful. And I somehow still do. But somehow I had stopped making an effort to see how I can make my own destiny. And thankfully, the realization did come along. Though I am still a little procrastinating at times, I am trying my best to get over it and lead it like I would really like to!
Thanks for this Deeone. Comes at a wonderful time!

Hajra recently posted this awesomeness..Over a Month…and a cheap wedding gift
Hi Hajra!
I’ve missed your presence in the online word too. I really loved the picture of the both of you. Stunning!
I was really doing the same as you not too long ago; but probably a little more loosely, if you catch my drift. In other words, I was lazy and full of excuses. Life changed drastically after my mother passed away a year and eight months ago. I saw my life flash before my eyes, and I didn’t really enjoy what it was I saw. I had nothing but time during this time in my life, so I faced some things that applied to my life, and have been making changes within, every since.
I think you nailed the point of life in your last statement… “I am trying my best to get over it and lead it like I would really like to!” That’s what it’s all about.
Thanks for stopping in and sharing your thoughts on this, my friend. Can’t wait to read about the wedding.

Hi Deeone,
This is my first visit here and I must say I really enjoy your writing.
If I may add my two cents… Positive energy will create a purpose and I fully support the notion that without faith and hope there can be nothing. Keeping hope and faith on the shelf is like having a gun aimed at your goals that’s not loaded and you won’t be able to achieve these goals.
Have a great rest of the week,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Glad to see you here, mate. I appreciate the kind words, as well.
I’d say those were pretty awesome two cents to add, my friend.
