The 7 Links Challenge and The Tell Me About Yourself Award… Oh Dear! — Releasing Me Today

The 7 Links Challenge and The Tell Me About Yourself Award… Oh Dear!

by Deone on February 16, 2012

This week marks one year since I started on this blogging journey (YAY!!!); which actually seems fitting for the topic of today’s post.

On last month, my dear friend Makeba Dunlap-Giles of MelisaSource nominated me for the Tell Me About Yourself award. I’m finally tackling it Makeba.

Then, on early part of this week I was nominated by a new friend, Praveen Rajarao of Daily Morning Coffee to participate in the 7 Link Challenge.

Oh dear, this should be interesting.

I am honored to have gotten mentioned and nominated by both of these individuals on their blogs, and cannot express enough gratitude to both of you for thinking enough of my work to be included on your list. Thank you both so very much.

Now, being Deeone, I wanted to be a bit creative combining the two awards together.  Doing them separately and on the same post would have made for an extremely long post (longer than normal, Hajra :D ), and since I’m only posting once a week until a few of my other writing projects are completed; I didn’t want to prolong either of these honors until next Thursday.

So please bare with me here.

The Rules

The Rules for the Tell me About Yourself Award:

  1. 7  random facts about myself.
  2. Share the award with 15 bloggers.

The Rules for the 7 Link Challenge:

  1. Provide 7 links for the provided categories.
  2. Share the award with 5 bloggers.

Easy enough, huh?

Well, here is where I get a bit creative. I will follow the first rule of both the award and challenge, but since most of the blogs I frequent either have already been nominated or have already participated; I’ll simply provide 10 to avoid this post being a mini short story and also share it with blogger’s I’ve never mention here on “RMT”. Bloggers who I have grown to admire and truly respect for their work.

I do hope that each blogger I share this award with decides to participate in one or both of these awards. There certainly won’t be any love lost if they choose not to do so.

So, let’s begin shall we?

7 link7 Random Facts

  1. I enjoy reading 2 – 4 books at a time. I’m currently reading 4 at the moment.
  2. My birthday is June 19th. Many know that date as Juneteeth. Anyone care to share why?
  3. My partner and I are hoping that this is the year we get to say “I do”. We celebrate 5 years together in April.
  4. I’m shy when it comes to first impressions, but warm up rather quickly to most peeps. (Nasty dispositions take a bit more warming for me.)
  5. I’m a lover of water; lakes, waterfalls, and oceans mostly
  6. I’m a lover of socks, underwear, scarves, and hats. Socks and underwear are my fave. TMI.. maybe.
  7. I’m pretty awesome at decorating interiors too.

7 Links Juices

  1. Most Beautiful Post – I thought the post, It’s Not the End, Butterfly (3 part series) was the most beautiful, but it could also go under Most Helpful, as well.
  2. Most Popular Post – As of today, The Shocking Truth About Taking Chances received 67 comments and still seems to get the most traffic.
  3. Most Controversial Post – This one was a bit harder to pick, but I thought Know the Truth: Does it Set Us Free or Keep Us Controlled was a bit hard to swallow for some. What did you think?
  4. Most Helpful Post – I always thought that Five Ways To Build a Bridge and Get Over Past Hurts was a helpful post.
  5. Post Whose Success Surprised Me – This was also in the top 3 of my favorites that I’ve written. Speaking Life into Your Situation. It received a lot of positive feedback. (Thanks Grandma for speaking life into mine.)
  6. Post I Feel Didn’t Get the Attention it DeservedReinventing Yourself (revised and updated), hands down. It was probably because it was so long, but I thought it still had a lot of great information in it.
  7. Post That I Am Most Proud Of – This was a tie for me between Thank Your Doubters and Releasing My Mindset. Both of these posts really helped me to understand some issues that I have consistently throughout my life had to deal with. Writing both gave me much needed clarity… and oh yes Release.

The 10 Nominees

  1. Burl Walker – StartStuffBlog
  2. Shellie Johnson – ShellieJohnson
  3. Craig McBreen – CraigMcBreen
  4. Mitch Mitchell – I’m Just Sharing
  5. Janine Ripper – Reflections from a Redhead
  6. Hajra Kvetches – HajraKvetches
  7. Jon Mertz – Thin Difference
  8. Chrysta Bairre – Live Love Work
  9. Allie – Ramblings of A WAHM
  10. Hiten Vyas – Hiten Vyas

Congratulations!!! YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK IN MY BOOK!!!! Thank you for being YOU!

OK, your turn… let me have it.

What did you think about my creativity with this post? Did you enjoy the facts?

Congratulations! Not for the awards, that comes later; for writing the shortest post ever! ;)

And yes, congrats on the award. You have been around one year! And that has a lot to say about the wonderful way you have established your credibility around the blogging world! It is awesome to see myself surrounded by so much talent.

How do you manage 4 books at a time? I can hardly do one at a time. I think it comes to my OCD with organization and control. Whatever! I haven’t read some posts here; so I will make sure I drop by soon and check out your favorites. I did do this challenge last year and yes, it was tough. Like I keep saying, every post is my favorite, I just can’t pick.

I can’t thank you enough for the nomination. Right now I am very busy with work and just can’t find enough time to post on my blog; so I will save this for a rainy day before my readers throw rocks on my blog for having disappeared!

Thanks once again! :)

I hope this is the year too for you… no pressure though! Big hug! Yes, I chopped off your fingers but you still go ahead and write this!

Come on, bring the 500 word response to the comment… ;)

How, did I know you’d notice that, Hajra. ;) When I looked at the word count on this post, I almost felt like I needed to keep going. I had to ask myself, “Are you sure you’re finished?” LOL! I guess that goes to show that I can write short post. It’s not my favorite thing to do, but it is possible. Now, to work on shorter comments. Yeah right! :D

Thanks for the congrats too! I can hardly believe that the year has flown past so quickly. You know what else? I’m looking forward to yet another one in the blogosphere! I’m ready to see what the year will bring with my writing. I just want to keep going and improving, getting better and better. I found out early on that branding is simply that… making sure everything you do speaks well for you.

If a person is ashamed to sign their name to it, then it probably shouldn’t be carried out, right? ;) And so that’s how I live my life. If I would be ashamed to stand behind it and say, “Yeah, I did it!”; then I won’t be doing that. I learned that lesson early on. I lived my life in secret for so much of my life, that now I really want no parts of any kind of secret life. It takes too much energy to keep a secret. LOL And I’m truly spent from keeping em.

I really can’t tell you how I manage 4 books at a time. I will say that it takes me a bit longer than it normally would for me to finish. I place them strategically around the house; so that wherever I find myself relaxing at or what have you, there’s a book there waiting for me when I need it. I have a really hard time focusing on one thing at a time. I get bored with them too quickly. By having 4 books going at the same time, I can shift to another when need be and that way I rarely get bored. Probably not the smartest move to make, but it works for me somehow.

Take your time with the award. Use it when and if you need too. I simply wanted to mention you, because you’ve made such an impression on me over the time I’ve had to get to know you. It has truly been a pleasure and I look ever so forward to getting to know you even better in the coming year.

Thank for the well wishes on my big day, as well. When my writing goes to the next level, and I’m finally getting paid for what I have to say, that will definitely be on the top of my to-do list.

There. That’s all. I don’t thank it’s 500 words, but it’s really close, huh? :D

Thanks again for ROCKING Hajra! You’re truly a gem of gems! Cheers, my friend. ;)

Hahahahaha!!! :D That’s hilarious!! You even got our dear friend Harleena in on it. Shame on you, Hajra. :D

I’m going to surprise you one of these days. I’m going to write one 500 words on the dot.

Now, the one after that might be one of those long ones that Harleena mentioned. I’m sure after just 500 words, I’m going to have so much to release on the following post. Sorta like exhaling! :D

I am telling you; I am building a whole team where each one of us copies your comments and posts it as a new post. Yes, that’s your “punishment” for being so superbly innovative with words and comments and that is our “gift” for being so insanely lazy ;)

I won’t be surprised. I will be shocked. But I just read the comments below, and I am not even trying to count them or put them on word count!

I am just waiting for your novel to be published!

Hahahaha! :D I don’t know how I missed this Friday, but this is incredibly hilarious!!

Well, I need to hurry up and get this novel to you all. It’s still in the works, but it just doesn’t come as easy as my comments do. I wish it did, but unfortunately there’s a lot more planning, editing, and writing that needs to take place. And to make sure I deliver a book that I’m going to be proud to place my name on and one that my readers will enjoy reading, I want to take my time on it; dotting all the i’s and crossing every t. ;) Trust me though, I’m ready to complete it and deliver it. :)

Hajra February 29, 2012 at 10:49 am

If your comments are this long, I must imagine how long your novel must be! I will need at least two people to carry it home! ;)

But yes, I too want to write a book someday and yes, I hope I can find the courage to start! Here’s hoping you finish that awesome book of yours and yes, don’t be too hard on yourself with the editing, the publishers will do it anyway! ;)

I love your messages, Hajra! They really do lightened my day, even more so than they already are! :D

Hopefully you won’t need a crane to have it delivered to you. :) I’m just trying to keep it simple and make sure the reader has a takeaway from the lessons I’ve learned.

I think that you could write an awesome book! If you add your sense of humor to it, it would definitely be a best seller. I’d totally read it!

You’re right about the editing too. I’ve been reading a lot on what to expect, and have connected with some other authors who have already been published; they have shared with me some wonderful tips of the trade.

I want to take my time with it though. I was rushing it at one point, but then one of my author friends told me to ‘enjoy the process… the first novel has many lessons when going through the process… if we rush it, we miss the lessons and have to be taught them again on the next one.’

So I’m taking that advice, and making sure the product I deliver is one that I will be proud to put my name too. ;)

Thanks for the encouragement though, my friend. It means the world to me. :)

Hi Deeone, Congratulations on your awards! Well-deserved as your posts are inspirational and so helpful to others.

Very cool you were born on Juneteenth. That seems quite appropriate, don’t you think?

I agree with you about bodies of water. They have a peaceful, calming, yet energizing effect.

Thank you for providing a handy road map to your posts. I know I and many others will enjoy exploring the posts we might have missed.

Have a great day!

Good Day Carolyn!

Thank you for really Rocking the comments today! You have managed to make me smile more than a Cheshire cat today. I’m not even minding that my cheeks are beginning to get a little tender in my dimples. :D

Yep, Juneteenth is the big day for me. And I have truly felt that it was apart of my destiny, more so here in my adult years. The day itself is inspiring to me; especially learning of the history of the date. A lot of great things happened on that day. So, I’m totally stoked that it is also when I made my big debut.

You nailed it with the description with water, as well! I’ve always been drawn to it for those exact reasons. They were also the reason I choose the Navy over all of the other branches. Although, since I also love the flying as well, I signed up for Air Force too; the Navy just happen to call me first. :) But, I felt truly at peace though whenever we went out to sea. Two six month cruises later, I was totally hooked to riding the waves!

I hope you get the chance to read a few of the links. I really enjoyed this exercise. It gave me the opportunity to read through some of my older pieces, and see just how much I’ve grown since starting this endeavor. I’m sure anyone who reads them will be able to see it too. :)

It has been a great pleasure chatting with you today! And I know that it’s not over yet, because I’ll be over to your place in a few hops, skips, and jumps. ;)

Until then,

Cheers and Blessings to you!

And thank you so much for the nomination. It’s and honour and I’ll work on the response over the weekend :)

Yep, Janine! It’s only been a year. :)

Thank you for the Congrats and the very sweet compliment!

I must ask though, what is your birthday month? When you said water, phobia of swimming, and oh yes… scarves! I said to myself… “This young lady really gets it!” :D I am a HUGE lover of scarves. This past Christmas I risked every single Christmas gift for a scarf from Club Monaco that I just had to have. I won’t even tell you how much was spent on it, but I will say that joker is fierce! :D The sad part is that it hasn’t been cold enough to wear the dang thing but once. No worries though, I know that it will definitely get it’s use for years to come. ;)

I also had a phobia at first of swimming, but when I joined the Navy, and my Training Petty Officer pushed me in the pool; I learned pretty quickly how to survive in water. Now, I’m a human fish! I even faced a fear and learn how to back stroke! :D

You’re very welcome for the nomination, my friend. I’m so glad that it was received in the spirit it was given.

All the best! Oh, and I’m still working on the project you’ve given me. Thanks again for the opportunity. It will be completed hopefully by the weekend.

Cheers!

If the students are anything like I was in the 4th grade, sub’s were the coolest!! I totally understand, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Although, with 4th graders you may be a bit tired by the end of the day. :-/

So let’s just say, when I hear from you it will still be most excellent to be able to do so.

Deeone,

I survived 4th grade. Actually, I took the job because I know the teacher is a real hard-as* and knew her class would be in top shape. It was. They were really good for me. But I don’t know if kids think subs are cool, they think they can take advantage of them. LOL. They get me here and there.

Congratulations! Doesn’t it feel good when all your hard work pays off and you get rewarded for it? It is one of the best feelings in the world when others recognize you for something great.

And thank you so much for the honor. Being that we just met each other I find that I definitely need to keep up my standards for sure. But don’t worry, I try very hard on my blog and when I comment.

Reading your list about yourself I was relating to many of them.

I too will read 2-4 books at a time. But my problem I rarely finish them. I don’t know why, I guess I get bored. I haven’t read much since I started my blog about 1.5 years ago, I read mostly online now.

I also LOVE anything water. I am an Aquarius and feel the need to be near water, specifically the Pacific Ocean, I live in the Bay Area.

And scarves! I love them!! I crochet my own so I can get whatever color I want.

Ok, but I hate interior decorating. I pretty good, I just can’t do it. I’ll have to have you over to help make my house look nice. :-)

So now I need to go create a post of my own for the award, right? I will be working on that shortly.

I’m actually thinking back to some of my sub experiences in school, and I guess you’re right, Allie. Many of my peers did take advantage of the sub teachers now that you mention it. I was a introvert coming up, so I was always the student trying to get on the teacher’s good side. Not to mention, I wasn’t all that popular or cool, nor was I studious; so that left me trying to make an impression to be liked by him or her.

I don’t think it ever worked though. Many of them in the small town I was from, already had their favorites; which after I figured that out, I decided class clown was a better fit. Oh the mistakes I made as a youth! :D I wish I could get some of those years back. LOL

Thanks for the Congrats! It does feel delightful to be rewarded for the hard work I’ve put in, and it inspires and encourages me to keep it going. :)

I’ve shared a few rewards and post with other’s that I have connected with, and wanted to switch it up this time. Your online presence made such an impact on me when we met, that I just wanted to past the torch over to you to learn more about you and your work. I’m glad that you took the nomination in the spirit in which it was given.

We do have a lot of similarities. That’s so cool! And I already see a switch off. When I come to help you decorate, you can crochet me one of your beautiful scarves. Deal? hahahaha. :D As I’m still trying to convince my partner of California. If that happens, I think that would work out perfectly! :D

I’m so glad that you came back to share with me more of your thoughts. I can’t wait to read your post to see what links you’ll be sharing. Looking forward to that!

I’m wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend. May it be relaxing and totally delightful for you. :)

Hey there Praveen,

Thank you for the nomination on your site, buddy! None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for you and my dear friend Makeba.

You’d be surprise of how many books you could go through, but keep in mind it takes me a bit longer to actually finish them when I add more than 2 of them at a time. :)

I really thank you for the congrats on the relationship front. That means a lot for me. I know that it’s a touchy subject these days, but I am the type of person that expresses myself very openly, so it’s gratifying when I get a positive response to something so questionable in society. So again, Thank you.

I’m glad that you reached out to me through Harleena’s site. She really has become a very dear friend to me, and I suppose that you and I will grow to know one another better as well. I look forward to it!

Feel free to venture through the archives and let me know what you enjoyed, as well as what didn’t sit to well with you. I welcome them both.

Thanks for stopping in and seeing how the challenge went. I’m glad that you didn’t mind me “shooting those two birds”. ;)

Wishing you all the best in your endeavors as well, my friend.

Cheers and many Blessings sent your way. :)

See, I told you that you were in for a surprise. :D

Thanks for the congrats and for the very kind words, my friend. :) That’s very encouraging to hear. I look forward to reading more of your material as well.

I love the work you do and I believe that your work is equally as inspiring. It motivates me to want to sharpen my vocal blades and get more back into public speaking. Who knows maybe I will learn a thing or two from you to help me head back in that direction. :)

I think what you’re doing provides people with a true understanding of what it means to build up their confidence to do things that they never dreamed of doing. And that is both admirable and incredibly awesome of you.

I say, keep up the great work, my friend. I’m sure it’s bound to change many lives. And one thing I’m learning better to do is to know those that truly want to change lives. You, my friend are the real deal. I’m delighted to have connected with you.

It’s for that exact reason, that I knew I wanted to include you in the nominations list. Each of you have inspired me in one way or the other to continue helping others to discover their true selves. So in essence, I owe you the thank you, my friend.

I look forward to reading your post and see how you’ll use the award. I just know I’ll learn something fascinating about you and your work with the 7 links and the random facts. :) I can’t wait!

All the best to you buddy! Enjoy the rest of your evening or day; whichever it is on your side of the world. :)

I just wanted to say thanks for your appreciation of my work! It motivates me to continue doing what I’m doing! And absolutely, if you’ve got any questions about public speaking, then please do let me know.

Have a good weekend.

Most definitely, Hiten!

I keep sending out to the Universe that I would attract the right people in my journey. People who work and personality I can respect and whom also respect me and my work, as well. Without fail the Universe is doing just that. Connecting me with genuine people with mutual or similar goals and mindsets. I really appreciate you offering to answer my questions concerning public speaking as well. And as the questions come, I know exactly who to come to now. :) Thanks for that, my friend.

Have a great weekend as well, buddy!

Cheers!! ;)

First, congratulations on the awards—well deserved indeed!
I love the facts that you gave about yourself! I could never read more than one book at a time! I’m even like that with magazines and newspapers! I think that reading is the only area where I can’t multitask!  I as well love water and interior decorating. It’s always great to transform a space—make it feel/seem brand new. Many congrats on your upcoming 5 year anniversary!! –Sounds like the perfect time to get away to an ocean, and relax and read even more books!  Hats and designed socks are my favorites too.
I’m sending congratulations as well to all of the award recipients—I’ve visited their sites and everyone is great!! Much-deserving of the awards! This is the number one thing that I love about blogging—the new discoveries, connections and most of all friendships! ;) Thank you for sharing and congrats again!

Thank you for the congrats, Makeba! As well as for nominating me for the awards. I know you originally gave me three, but like I mention under the comments there; I’d already done the other two. I hope that was OK. :)

I’m seeing a trend here though… everyone is totally shocked about the books. I don’t even think nothing of it. When I used to believe in horoscopes, there would’ve been a time I would’ve counted it to being a Gemini thing. And not being able to stick to one thing, and it could very well be that those twins are reading two books each. :D That’s a reach, huh? I know. LOL But, it could work or fit. :)

That’s what I love about decorating too. I love taking a normal blah space and putting my own spin on it. What’s some of your favorite shops for home accents? I’m always looking for new shops to look for new pieces and ideas.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes as well. I agree with you, it would be awesome if we could make it to the beach. If you can believe it, being land locked here in Atlanta, I haven’t been to a beach or even a pool in the entire 6 years I’ve been here. So yes, it’s totally overdue! I so hope this is the year that we do that. :)

Thank you again for the award, my friend. I appreciate you in so many ways. I’m blessed to have met you.

Enjoy the rest of your week. :)

Hi Deeone!

For starters, congrats on winning the award yourself ~ very much deserved! And for blogging for an entire year ~ that’s fabulous. Second, thank you so much for putting me in such fine company & giving me an award. I’m so flattered & honored that you included me!

Honestly, I don’t know how you can read more than 1 book at a time. I just can’t do it. Although I also have small children so that probably explains a lot, too. :) I also love being around water; I always find it’s easier for me to write when I’m around water.

You’ve been an incredible, supportive person; I hope & wish that this is the year you see all your dreams realized.

Cheers,
Shelli

Hi Shelli,

I’m so excited to see you here, my friend. Welcome! :)

Thank you for the congrats, and please know that I think that you are equally deserving of this award and so many more of them. I love your writing and can’t wait to read your book.

What helps me with reading so many books at once also is that they’re usually in the same category. I find that helps a lot as well. I imagine if I had children it would also prove to be difficult for me as well. I haven’t had the opportunity to write near water, living here in Atlanta, but I’m sure that is incredibly inspiring and soothing. I hope that I get the chance to do that one day. It may make the process that much easier.

You make it easy for me to be supportive. You’re such a kind spirit and it shines though your work. I’m so blessed to have come across your website and to have made the connection with you.

I hope this won’t be your last time stopping by. :)

It’s always a pleasure to read your thoughts. I wish you and yours the best this year as well.

Have an awesome ending to the week! Cheers!

What a nice post. As an introduction to you I think it is nicer and ‘funner’ that the standard bio one can read. 2 to 4 books huh? Presumably you dip in as and when the mood takes you as to which to read any particular day. I do the same I have to say. The socks and underwear?…Well I’ll leave that one between you and your sock drawer. :)

Hey there Pea and Welcome, my new friend! :)

I’m delighted you enjoyed the post. Please come back anytime to check out more of what’s going on over here at The Release. :) It’s a pleasure to have you here.

You hit the nail right on the head with the books. It’s all about mood and which I’m in for which book I’m reading. I never did that well in school with book reports, because I’d get bored reading one book until it’s completion. But never understood until an adult why that was the case. Lessons learned, I guess. :D

Too funny, your thoughts on the socks and underwear. :D I chuckled reading that one. ;)

Thanks for stopping in and making yourself known. I took a look at your site, and love what you have going over there. I’ll stop back in to leave you some feedback at some point today. Looking forward to reading your thoughts more in depth.

Again, thanks so much. Have a wonderful weekend! Until we chat again… Cheers! :)

Congrats Deeone!

Great achievements for both the awards and you do deserve it my friend! Wonderful to know more about you, and good Lord! How do you ever manage to read so many books together! I barely find the time to read a single one at one go :)

Nice to know about Juneteeth- that’s sweet indeed, and something i would surely remember :)

I hope and pray you and your partner do finally say “I do”- though Valentine’s would also have been perfect for that :)

Great list of things that you like and am sure you must have done up your house prety well as you are fond of decorating interiors :)

I have read most of your posts, as I guess when you were on a different blogging platform, I have been visiting you from your first blog- and you sure have reached great heights- thanks to your hard work, dedication, and wonderful connections :)

While I do know most of the nominees like Hajra ( shes a darling!), and of course Hiten, Jon, Craig, and Allie who is a recent acquaintance, I do need to check out the others listed above. Coming from you, they are sure to be wonderful.

Thanks so much for sharing and can’t wait to see your much awaited book now :)

Good day Harleena! :)

The link achievement is partly because of you from what I’ve read and heard; so I owe you a thank you for that, my friend. The book thing is due to having a very low attention span. I’ve simply learned how to use it more to my benefit. If I didn’t come up with a to read books that didn’t have short spurts or chapters, I’d never finish them. It’s still being debated whether that’s a good thing or not. :D

Yep, Juneteenth! Since I know of many of the cool facts about things that have happened on that date in history, it sort of makes it a cool thing for me to be born on that day. It gives me something else to celebrate! It would be awesome if that’s the date that my partner and I would be able to say “I Do”… Birthday and Anniversary gifts. ;)

I haven’t done much to this house, since we’re renting it at the moment. But the last one that we had I was really able to put my signature on it. I do miss being able to do so though. I hope that the next one will allow for me to be more active in decorating it. We will be relocating in the next coming months, so I’m looking really forward to that.

Do stop in and say hello to the other bloggers that you’re not familiar with, each of them are very talented writers; and yes, I definitely recommend visiting each of them.

I’m so appreciate you for being so supportive of my writing journey. I have learned so much from you and really appreciate the connection we’ve been able to form. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend. :)

Now, I hope you have a great weekend. And get the chance to relax and enjoy your family. I shall chat with you soon when I read your newest post. It sounds like a goodie! ;) Until then, take care. :)

Congrats on one year blogging! Way to go! You’ve always loved writing and I’ve been so excited to watch your journey! Can’t wait for a book to be ready!

I’ve got three books going right now…and I’m hoping to get at least one of them completed this weekend (now that I’ve typed it, I’ll work to make it happen). Here’s hoping you and Timmy get to say “I do!” this year! : )

You are absolutely the best, hands down!! I’m so excited to see you here, Tammy! You’ve no idea how much you’ve made my day! It’s like you’ve given me a power pellet, and I can now proceed to conquer the day! :)

A HUGE THANK YOU!!

I’ve actually been working on a eBook mostly here of late, something to hold my readers over until the book is completed. Hopefully it will be of people’s liking, I know I’m loving it so far. I’m hoping that it will be completed in a few more weeks (fingers crossed). That’s what I’m going for anyways. :)

3 books, huh?! So I’m not the only one! I remember my mom used to be able to do that too. I think that’s where I get from. I know if you said it’s going to get completed this weekend then it can be considered done!

Thanks for the well wishes to Tim and I. You already know that if there’s a wedding or dinner of some sort, your invite is in the mail.

Again, thank you for supporting me in this; you may never know how much it means to me. Much love to you. :) MUAH!!

I’ll completed reading one book this weekend, all while working on some writing! Working on writing a big, fun book with someone and I’m learning a lot in the process! My list of things to do and write is GINORMOUS! Playing catch-up is the name of the game this weekend!

And I would LOVE to see your wedding! : )

Thank you for being a friend! You have no idea how thrilled I was to reconnect with you online! It’s been a blessing!

That’s totally exciting, my friend! I am half way through most of mine. So this weekend probably won’t bring completion to any of them. :D One of them could very well be a textbook. It’s called the “The 48 Laws of Power”. Have you heard of it? It’s a great read! A good friend of mine recommended it and actually ordered and sent it to me. He’s incredibly encouraging and has taught me the power of giving and helping others.

This weekend will more than likely be spent working on the eBook. I really need to finish that up. And since I’ve made some changes with what it’s about, I had to scratch the original direction of and start again on the earlier part of this week. Whoever said that writing books was easy lied terribly! :D

Consider the wedding done then. You’ll definitely get the invite. We’ve been through a lot together and it’s been a pleasure reconnecting with you after all of these years. Who knew that when we were writing on the school paper, that both of us would end up writing as adults! That’s so awesome! And you are just as much of a blessing to me. Thank you for being friend as well. We certainly won’t lose connection again. That’s for sure. ;)

Happy Anniversary Deeone! Looks like you and Chrysta are around the same time that you guys started your blogs although a year apart. So happy that you’re still writing since most people bail after about six month.

Now this was a smart thing to do since like you said, you are only writing once a week. I would hate to have to spread them apart too and one right after the other so good idea.

I’m surprised too, how can you read four books at the same time! Heck, it’s hard enough for me to get through one. So does it take you a long time to get through them all or do you finish them around the same time? I know, can’t believe that’s the thing I’m honing in on right!

Your birthday should be easy to remember now. Thanks for sharing that with us if Facebook doesn’t! :-)

I love the water too. When I was younger that’s where you’d always find me. Usually riding in someone’s boat. I love the sound of a running creek or the ocean’s tide coming in. You just can’t beat it for feeling so peaceful.

I hope that you and Tim will be able to tie the knot this year. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you both.

Enjoyed the post and the ones you nominated for this challenge as well Deeone. Nothing like giving them a little more attention.

Have a really wonderful weekend!

Hey Adrienne,

Thank you for the congrats! I totally know exactly what you mean by many dropping the ball usually around 6 months. On my six month mark, I was actually leaving my free WordPress and getting self-hosted. It never cross my mind to quit. I think partly that is because it took me so long to reach this point where I am today with my writing, that I am too determined to give it up so easily. You know?

It usually ends up taking me a bit longer with reading my books selections, because I don’t read the same book per day. I pretty much switch them up, and then some days I don’t get the chance to read one of them at all. Those are usually the days I’m visiting sites or writing.

I know that my birthday should come pretty easy for you to remember, because I remember a Navy buddy who was from Texas; and he mentioned to me that Texas usually celebrates the date big time. I remember telling him that I needed to move there to help with the celebration. Or, simply to have my own while the celebration is going on. Either way, Paaaarty! :D

I totally agree with you, there’s something about water that is just so relaxing and soothing. I would’ve loved to have grown up around some, but being that I was inland it was very rare growing up that I ever had the chance to go to the beach. Pool. All the time, but the beach didn’t come along until my Navy years and getting stationed in Virginia Beach. And Oh how I miss the beach.

When we are able to tie the knot and relocate out of Georgia, I am 100% sure it will be near some water. It’s a must actually! Thanks for the well wishes as well. That means a lot. :)

I’m glad to know you enjoyed the read, and the ones that were nominated. They really are an awesome bunch.

Now, enjoy your weekend and get ready for another awesome week ahead. Look forward to chatting with you soon. Cheers! :)

One of my favorites Dee. It came into my life When I needed some guidance to start moving forward with my life. I love the picture of the spider.

“We could learn a lot from the spider for instance. If you were to knock down her web; she would immediately begin to reinvent another. That’s pure determination!”

What a life message.

Glad to be apart of your world. You have been a master teacher and friend.

Congrats for your 1 year, 2 nominations, and a very special day for you and Tim.

Hey Gloria! :)

Tell me about it! The year surely has flown by, hasn’t it? But thank you so much for sharing your kind sentiments with me on how you feel about my work here. It means a lot to me and I appreciate you for expressing your thoughts here with me.

I totally agree that the post was a bit winded, but filled with a lot of great information. When I had written that particular post, we were living in the woods, and I remember taking a picture of a huge spider building her web. That thought immediately came to me, because I was also in the mind frame of thinking about the reinvention process we sometimes have to create in our own lives. To me, it mimicked that of the spider.

I am equally glad to have met you and gained such a remarkable friendship with you. And the best part of that is, we’ve only begun growing together. Just imagine what the Universe has in store for both of us, just by being connected with one another. Totally exciting… if you’re not totally excited, then now would be the time to get there. ;) We’re about to take this life thing to the next level! :)

Thanks again for the congrats and well wishes. I’m so glad this journey has helped you along the way as well. That’s very encouraging. :)

Cheers and Blessings to you, my friend.

Congrats Deeone on making it to the one year blogging bench mark. Many have quit by now or seldom post anymore.

I had to laugh at #4. I think it is smart to be a little cautious when meeting someone for the first time. Eventually the real you/me or whatever comes through and then they are asking us to be more reserved again. :)

Good luck on getting hitched this year #3. :)

Hey thanks Justin,

I’ve heard a few people say that hitting the one year bench mark is a great accomplishment as a blogger. Well, all I can say is that I have no desire as of yet to give up on my dream. This is the closest I’ve ever been to accomplishing what I’ve always wanted to do. To give up now would be ludicrous. Wouldn’t you agree?

You make a very valid point also on first impressions. I’ve certainly experienced that when making a few myself. You get people telling you to just be yourself, and then when you do that, you get told to tone it down a bit. I’m convinced that some people just don’t have a clue of what it is they really want, for themselves or from others. Therefore, I figure the best thing for me to do is just be me, and let them decide if they like what their getting or not. That approach seems to be working so far. :D

Thanks for the well wishes on getting hitched. lol That’s certainly one way of looking at it. :D
